It is wonderful to see retailers around the world opening bold and exciting retail spaces. And good to see that retailing in Japan has a sense of humour and fun. I hope it is very successful and inspires others to invest in niche offerings. Anyone who has been to South Korea and seen the various Hello Kitty offerings, or the quirky John Fluevog shoes in Vancouver will understand why physical stores offer special experiences for consumers.
Tokyo is about to have its first permanent Pokemon diner. Opening in the Takashimaya department store in Nihonbashi, the cafe will feature food, drinks, and décor that draws on decades of Pokemon anime and videogame aesthetics.
